Yes. Your laptop from Back in Use is technically fully ready to use. On first startup, you just need to enter a few personal preferences: your country, keyboard layout, Wi-Fi, and Microsoft account. After that, your laptop is fully set up for your use.
You don’t need to install or configure anything
Your device has been checked, formatted, reinstalled, and tested. Windows or macOS is already installed, fully updated, and works as it should. All you need to do is go through a few personal settings during the initial setup.
These are the steps you’ll see:
- Which country/region do you live in?
- What keyboard layout do you use? (for example AZERTY or QWERTY)
- Would you like to add a second keyboard layout? (only useful for multilingual users)
- Which Wi-Fi would you like to connect to? (you’ll need your Wi-Fi password)
- Give your device a name. (this can be anything – for example “Laptop Peter”)
- Sign in with your Microsoft account or create one. (this is needed for email or OneDrive, for example)
- Choose your privacy preferences. (for example: do you want Windows to use your location or not?)
After these steps, you're ready to go. Your laptop is ready for work, email, internet browsing or online banking.
